Tené Hamilton Franklin
Tené Hamilton Franklin is the Executive Director, Southeast at Health Leads, overseeing program design, development, and operations. She offers consultation on community engagement and public health strategies for local health equity. Previously, as Vice President of Health Equity & Stakeholder Development, she provided strategic leadership and promoted intercultural competence at Health Leads. Before joining, Franklin was the Minority Health Officer for Tennessee, fostering collaboration to eliminate disparities in health programs. She chairs the Metro Public Health Department Board of Health in Nashville and actively participates in various community endeavors, including roles in the NAACP and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. A Chattanooga native, Tené holds an MA in Genetic Counseling from Howard University and a Bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Virginia. She lives with her husband and two daughters in Nashville, TN.
