Join the Movement: Championing Doula Rights and Healthcare Integration
NYCDA empowers doulas to use their voices to define their professional standards and advocates for increased access to doula care in underserved communities. We work to integrate doulas into healthcare teams and to achieve priorities, including equitable Medicaid reimbursement and establishing doula-friendly hospital standards. We host monthly meetings for the full NYCDA membership, highlighting progress and challenges on key priorities and showcasing informative presentations from doulas, clinicians, and other advocates and experts. We also have monthly meetings for our two subcommittees: Medicaid Reimbursement and Doula-Friendly Designation.
