As community-based organizations continue to play an increasingly important role providing services and filling inequitable gaps left by education, health and so many other sectors, we need not only more of their work, but new ways of thinking and problem-solving that is for them, by them – and they need the time and resources to do it.
During the final webinar in our Community-Driven Innovation: Shifting Power, Solving Problems webinar series, local community partners share their experience developing and testing a tool to improve the equitable and inclusive integration of promotoras at a hospital. During this facilitated discussion, which features a promotora, community-based organization leader, and hospital champion, panelists will highlight identifying an opportunity for community-driven innovation, share lessons learned from designing and testing this tool, and describe the impact of shifting power on community health outcomes.
