As community-based organizations continue to play an increasingly important role providing services and filling inequitable gaps left by education, health and so many other sectors, we need not only more of their work, but new ways of thinking and problem-solving that is for them, by them – and they need the time and resources to do it.
During this fireside chat and the second event of our Community-Driven Innovation: Shifting Power, Solving Problems webinar series, we will explore the Maker’s Residency, a design lab for BIPOC-led community-based organizations who deeply understand the problems their communities are facing but need the time, space, support, and resources to explore and create potential solutions. 2023 Beta Makers Residency participants will reflect on their experiences in the program, giving an overview of their identified challenge, the process of developing their solution, and the impact of the project on their community.
We encourage those interested in strategies to invest and support community-driven innovation to join us for this interactive conversation, share their experiences addressing health equity challenges, and listen and learn from each other.
