We recently spoke with Melissa Jones, Executive Director of the Bay Area Regional Health Inequities Initiative (BARHII), to learn how her community has mobilized to meet the challenges of our new reality head on. We talked through what it means to build effective collaboration structures, push forward policy changes, and address the inequities that have been made more apparent than ever.
Since September 2019, Dr. Janice Underwood has served as Virginia’s first cabinet-level Chief Diversity Officer, and she currently leads the Health Equity Task Force. Relationship between Intervention Dosage and Success of Resource Connections in a Social Needs Intervention
Published in the journal Public Health, this study from Health Leads and Westat shows evidence that the number and type of patient-navigator interactions improves successful resource connections. These findings provide insight for how to structure and deliver social need programs to achieve greater success.
