Bending the Cost Curve with Community Advocates

Jun 19, 2019

Baylor Scott and White Health (BSWH) is a Dallas-based, nonprofit health system that is committed to working with the community to improve the health of the populations they serve. The work underway at BSWH‘s Community Advocate Program serves as a potential template for organizations looking to create the “business case” for addressing essential resource needs in a manner that adds value to our biggest stakeholders: patients, providers and the community.

Drafted in August 2018, this case study explores BSWH’s focus on sustaining and expanding their programs through a solid business case — based largely on the ability to effectively demonstrate reductions in total costs of care.
